Confidentiality
How we protect your work
The simplest protection is not to hold what we do not need. Most of our services work from public information and a short summary of your plans. The exception is pivot strategy, where we read your previous application under a confidentiality agreement.
What we ask for
We ask for as little as possible
What we need
- Your name and email address
- Your CV, or a link to your public profile
- A short summary of your research interests
- The calls or funders you are considering
For pivot strategy only: your previous application and reviewer feedback, shared after we both sign a confidentiality agreement.
Please do not send
- Draft proposals or unpublished results
- Details of colleagues or co-applicants beyond their public profiles
- Health or other sensitive personal information
- Your institution’s internal or confidential documents
If something like this reaches us by mistake, we delete it and let you know.
How we handle it
What happens to what you share
- Only us: it is seen only by Yujin Du. Apart from the service providers listed in our privacy policy, we do not share it without your permission.
- Stored securely: in a business account protected by two-factor authentication.
- Deleted after 90 days: we delete your files 90 days after our work ends, or sooner if you ask.
- Never reused: we do not use your information as an example without your written permission.
If you ever need to share something unpublished, tell us first. We will agree with you whether it is needed and, if it is, sign a confidentiality agreement before you send it.
Conflicts of interest
Our founder also works in research development at a UK university. That role is kept separate from this consultancy. If we see a possible conflict with your plans, we tell you before any work starts, and you decide whether to go ahead.
For how we handle personal information, see our privacy policy.
